Write the stories that matter
Artificial Intelligece
Artificial Intelligence is one of the fastest-growing concepts in the world and it will and already has affected many industries including medicine. We want you to discover how it has and will affect medicine for the good, or the bad, and write for us so many more can learn about it too.
Diving into the topic whilst staying concise is an important part of academic writing so we will only accept articles up to 700 words (not including references)
Referencing is one of the most important parts of writing academic pieces and must be used for all articles submitted. Please use the Harvard referencing method for your submission
All submissions will be put through both a plagiarism and AI checker and any entries that are found to have been plagiarised or used AI will be rejected as academic integrity is crucial, especially in medicine where honesty is crucial
Please be sure to submit your articles by the 15th of January as no late entries will be looked at
Join us to be a part of our mission, to grow everyone's knowledge about medicine and improve your skills by developing the ability to critically analyse academic writing and learn to write as part of the editorial.
We are looking for students enthusiastic about medicine and all of the science around it and people who are looking to grow their knowledge about a variety of topics while helping us curate the digest and blog.

Aspiring Doctors Digest is a medical magazine compiled and written by students, for students. We aim to give the many aspiring doctors out there a way to understand the key aspects of the industry and how it is changing by publishing a quarterly issue with articles from high school students, medical students, and even doctors on various topics whilst keeping all articles simple to understand so anyone interested in medicine can learn something.
We are a group of inquisitive and passionate students, just like you, who want to allow students to get a feel of academic writing and learn about the field that we love in the process. We are a team of 4 who are based all around the world in places such as Dubai, London, and Hong Kong. We also have some medical students and doctors as part of the team. Be sure to read their take on the prompt in the next issue as well as the editorial crafted by our team of brilliant editors.
I am Prakrit Mittal—a year 12 student in Dubai with a passion for writing and, like you, medicine. After writing an article for the Duke University Science Magazine about How to Repair a Human Liver and doing an HPQ, I realised that most students don't know how to write for academic journals. Another problem many of us encounter is that we can't understand a lot of the research out there and it simply isn't accessible for us so we simply stop reading and go on our phones instead. I then sat and thought about what I could do to change this and came up with the idea of the Aspiring Doctors Digest.
Hello! My name is Charlize Mui, and I am a Year 12 student from Hong Kong. I am deeply passionate about learning - from all things science to performing arts (and the obvious - medicine). I joined the Aspiring Doctor’s Digest team for one main reason: I was inspired by the project and it’s objectives - how it strives to promote further exploration of knowledge and the development of important linguistic skills and critical judgment. By being a part of this project, I gain a sense of fulfillment, and I am able to develop alongside my fellow passionate peers, learning more about medicine and about each other too. I hope that through this project, I can utilise this outlet to further enrich what I know, so that we can enrich others too.
Hello! I am Nisa Arora, a year 12 student in Dubai with a passion for Medicine and Science. Upon doing some research for a project on lung cancer, and reading about ACL reconstructions for a family member’s injury, I noticed that a lot of the resources out there are either inaccessible, or contain too much medical jargon for school students to understand well. After discussing this problem with a mentor, I was directed towards Prakrit who shared the idea of the digest with me. I joined the team because I believe that this project will help myself and others like me to dive deeper into medicine through simpler, more comprehensible articles, allowing us to learn and explore the field much more effectively.
Hello! I’m Kian Costa, a student in year 11 from Dubai with a strong passion for medicine and writing. I’ve always been eager to explore the world of healthcare, but what excites me even more is the opportunity to help create a space where students like us can share our knowledge and ideas. That’s why I joined the Aspiring Doctors Digest as a Senior Editor. This platform gives students from around the world a chance to come together, collaborate, and publish their work on medical topics. It’s an amazing way to connect with peers who share the same interests and to gain confidence in writing. I’m excited about the opportunity to help others grow while learning more about medicine myself.
Unfortunately we haven't published yet but you can help change that. Look above to see what you can write about
